Project Overview

The Project Overview provides high-level information for the selected project. You can view and edit information on your progress, budget usage, and cost allocation.

To access the Project Overview, select the Projects tab and click the name of the project you wish to view.

At the top of the Project Overview you will see the name of the selected project. Below the project name, the overview is divided into several sections. When a project is first created, the different sections of the overview will display, but they will contain no data. To enter data for an overview section, click the Edit button for that section.

Project Information

Project Information is displayed directly below the project name. Project Information includes the current project stage, any pictures associated with the project, and high-level project responsibilities. To add or edit the information, click the Edit button to bring up the Project Information detail, or select View/Edit Project Team from the drop-down menu at the top of the Project Overview and click the button.

Project Phases

Project Phases display the Baseline and Actual dates for the various phases of the project. These dates are also presented as a horizontal bar graph so that you can easily compare the baseline and actual dates. To add or edit the phases, click the Edit button to access the Project Phases details, or select View/Edit Project Phases from the drop-down menu at the top of the Project Overview and click the button.

Funding Source

Funding Source lets you view the budget information for the current project by funding source. Use the drop-down menu to select the source by which the information should be filtered. For more information associating project costs with specific funding sources, see Cost Allocation.

Cost Allocation

Cost Allocation displays the original budgeted costs for your project, as well as any changes that have been made to these costs. The values in this area come from the Contract Information The costs are broken down by funding category. Costs must be assigned to a funding source to appear in the cost allocation table. To edit cost allocations, click the Edit button to access the Contract Information details, or select View/Edit Contracts from the drop-down menu at the top of the Project Overview and click the button.

Milestones

Milestones consist of schedule information that is important to the completion of the product. You can use milestones to mark targets and dates of significance concerning your project. To edit milestone, click the Edit button to access the Milestones details, or select View/Edit Milestones from the drop-down menu at the top of the Project Overview and click the button.

Remarks

Remarks can include any additional project information you wish to record. Remarks are entered as part of the Project Information details.
